Mammals in Namibia

During our tour of Namibia, the diversity wildlife was truly
spectacular. To give a sense, here's a list of the mammals we
encountered:

Chacma baboon
Ground squirrel
Black-backed jackal
African elephant
Rock dassie
Black rhino
Burchell's zebra
Hippo
Giraffe
Blue wildebeest
Red hartebeest
Spotted hyena
Kudu
Lion
Springbok
Steenbok
Black-faced impala
Gemsbok (Oryx)
Warthog

Not bad for a ten-day tour. And this doesn't include birds. Besides
the noble ostrich, a compatriot on the safari who was tracking birds
seen counted over 140 species.
